the last of one of my favourite poems – author unknown –
which i have been posting through my photography for the last few days…
the entire poem reads like this:
Hey normal day!
let me be aware of the treasure you are.
let me learn from you, love you, bless you
before you depart.
let me not pass you by in the quest
of some rare and perfect tomorrow.
let me hold you while i can
for it may not always be so.
one day, i will dig my hands into the dirt,
or bury my face in the pillow,
or stretch myself taut,
or raise my hands up to the sky and want,
more than all the world,
such a lovely way of gently caressing our
rushed minds to take today as a gift.
one day we will wish we had it back.
the photo i chose to illustrate this
was of my past trip to costa rica,
way up top above the clouds…
i wish for this day back,
but it can never be so.
